I'm starting to wonder if Trump ran for POTUS as leverage for the Tower deal- same as Manafort signed on for the cache' it would give him with Ukranians, etc. (he was broke at the time and in serious debt).
Trump didn't want to be President, and never thought he'd win (despite Steve Bannon's cheerleading). But the art of the deal, you know; it's always money with him.

If true, I hope Mueller accepts the House’s invitation to speak ASAP.

R8, No. The Russians ran Trump for POTUS, and rigged the election of him, to turn US foreign policies in their favor.
The carrot may have been TT Moscow; the stick, however, was, and remains, videos.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 25, 2019 7:10 AM |
Let me amend that:
The other stick, the cudgel, is the immense debt the Trump Family is in to Russian oligarchs. Aiding Russian plans for Europe (NATO, e.g.) is the Quo. Hence, Trump's disdain for Merkel; his snub of D-Day commemorations; his hiring of pro-Putin Ukraine agent Manafort and the subsequent choice of Manafort's guy Pence as VP; his totally private talks with Putin; etc.

Daily Beast -- After Robert Mueller Issues His Report, the Democrats Who Waited Two Years for This Moment Stare Into the Abyss
Eventually, and sooner rather than later now, anyone who’d convinced themselves the Mueller Report would finally take down Trump will have to come to terms with reality, or separate from it entirely. This was not some haphazard investigation. It included the Special Counsel, 19 lawyers, and 40 FBI agents, and other staff, who “thoroughly investigated” allegations of Russian collusion. And they found no crime. Nothing.
Regular viewers of liberal-leaning cable news outlets may have an especially hard time grappling with the fact that the narrative has suddenly gone bust. If Trump’s presidency were a TV show (as people often joke), then this is the episode where someone says, “By the way, that whole last season was a dream.”
Spin it anyway you like, but for the amount of breathless coverage these last two years about every little development in this case, what we are left with is Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone’s vault.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 25, 2019 7:43 AM |
NO ONE HAS SEEN THE GD REPORT. No one knows what is in it. Barr has given us his version. The house intel committee has a legal right to the document. What we do know is Barr refuses to hand it over.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 25, 2019 8:07 AM |
R21 Barr has given us "his version"? And if it doesn't jive with what is really in the report, Mueller will remain silent?

by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 25, 2019 8:21 AM |
Still don't see anyone trying to explain the immunity deals, lessened sentences, plea bargains, and cooperation agreements that were seemingly meaningless.
And, I don't think Mueller would say anything against Barr's interpretation. He's too much of a Boy Scout and would consider it not his place. I even wonder if getting called before Congress will just have him deferring to the Justice Department the whole time.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 25, 2019 8:26 AM |
Let's say there was collusion, and obstruction, and it's clear in Mueller's report.
Can you imagine a universe in which Barr admits that to the American public?
Please.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 25, 2019 8:27 AM |
Fucker probably pre-wrote the letter and then just filled in a few cherry-picked quotes from the actual report.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 25, 2019 8:31 AM |
R26 Those deals are still good for prosecuting other crimes. Mueller went quite hard on Trump's cronies, but turned soft on the biggest crook at the center of it all.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 25, 2019 8:31 AM |
Can Barr be indicted?
What would have to have transpired for that to happen?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 25, 2019 8:33 AM |
R29, those deals were federal. They were for the cases Mueller was bringing. He was the one making the deals. According to Barr, they all got off easy and gave weeks and weeks of testimony against higher-ups for no reason at all. Who is higher up than the National Security Advisor and the Head of the Campaign? Only one person but, again, according to Barr, that one person is innocent of all federal and international crimes.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 25, 2019 8:36 AM |
Barr must believe the mob is dirty but the mob boss is clean. Barr is essentially Trump's defense attorney granted the power of AG. A clear conflict of interest.

With Trump, there could be photos and videos of him sucking Putin's dick and repubs would say he has no relationship to Putin

This R34, and Obama drove them to initiate the self-destruct sequence. Just remember when it's all over that white, largely but not exclusively, male racism destroyed the greatest democracy the world has ever known. White supremacy is the ideology they all share, even the ones that are smart enough to fool you for a minute. That is what turns Americans into traitors giving succor to a foreign enemy, that is what allows government officials and office holders to trash democratic norms, and that is why you should never trust anyone's "impeccable reputation", at least if they happen to be white, male, and Republican.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 25, 2019 9:35 AM |
Agreed that Congress (and the public) should get the entire report, but the collusion thing appears to be a dry well. I'm as disappointed over that as anyone, but we need to move on to things that might actually be useful in either getting rid of Trump or helping to make sure he doesn't get re-elected. Let's not waste ourselves on whackjob conspiracy theories and focus on the obstruction piece.
Above all, though, we have to remember that there isn't much that would dislodge Trump's nutbar base from supporting him, so we have to focus on putting together a unified Democratic front. Once the nominee is selected, that should be it. If you aren't a Trump supporter, vote for the Democratic nominee. Or to put it another way, if you don't vote for the Democratic nominee, you are a Trump supporter.
Let's not shoot ourselves in the foot again voting for one-issue candidates who have no chance of winning - the stakes are too high.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 25, 2019 9:43 AM |
Mueller destroyed us and let a crime family go free as they pillage our country and worse yet, they grift other countries as well. The vile little Jared may actually be the Antichrist...what character would Mueller play?
We ourselves know what the lying cheat, Trump has done, yet Mueller could not supposedly prove a thing. Does anyone think that there might be too many loopholes for white collar criminals?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 25, 2019 9:57 AM |
What Barr did is establish the narrative that favors Trump and the Republican Party. The actual report could be pretty damning, but the right wing and the Deplorables will insist that Barr's "interpretation" is right and what truly matters while the liberal socialists remain in their liberal bubble obsessing about the"too long to read" report picking and choosing whatever may fit with their socialist agenda.

Trump can spend his life in court after he leaves office. Dems need to focus on the myriad issues they can appeal to voters on.
All the commentators on CNBC and MSNBC should move on as well. All the hours wasted chewing on this dry cud. The whole thing was a waste after it was clear Senate wouldn't impeach until 2021 at the earliest so why bother.

It was clear a LONG time ago that collusion wasn’t happening. The only hope was obstruction like Nixon. It’s time to face the fact that he won’t be impeached. It’s not happening. We need a major candidate that can take up as much space and air that he does, and unfortunately we don’t have anyone near that designation. He is a monster that has been created over nearly four decades of bizarre media coverage. He will be nearly impossible to defeat. Logic and reason DON’T MATTER in this race. I’m preparing myself for another six years of this nightmare, that, or fleeing the country if it starts to get really ugly and they turn on us, which feels to me like a real possibility.

You guys need to understand what impeachment means. It doesn’t mean removal from office. The House impeaches, The Senate convicts. The House could impeach Trump tomorrow. Then the criminal stench is on the Republicans in the Senate. The Republicans impeached Clinton knowing full well he would never be convicted in the Senate. The Democrats should do the same thing to Trump.

Fred Flintstone, er, I mean William Barr, will testify before Congress and reiterate what he said at his confirmation hearing. There will be nothing new from Katie, Barr the Door.
It's Mueller's remarks before them that I'll be interested in.
Also, the Repugs already are, in an attempt to sound principled and "concerned", diverting to the value of Mueller exposing foreign interference in our elections so we look away from their domestic gutting of voting rights and voters hearing "Your papers, please." in order to vote.
To be counted as one who wants to move on doesn't mean I want the Dems in Congress to not require Barr and Mueller to testify. No, keep that going. What I mean is that whatever DEms did to win in 2018 must be maintained and emphasized.
I've pondered the following for a long time but I've concluded it's true- Republicans never make the mistake of overestimating the intelligence of Americans. Of course, that's not an origin thought by me. What I mean is, they've managed an evil twofer- keeping Americans ignorant AND to not be held to the same standard as Americans hold Dems. That's a back-handed compliment to us, but I'd take the power and of Repugs, instead.
Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about- I took a different view of Hillary not campaigning in Wisconsin. I always took it as a compliment that she concluded, correctly, that we could see an obvious con-man when we saw one. How naïve and idealistic of me.
Americans, like babies reaching with their mouths for the spoon holding the dollop of smushed fruit, find the spoonful of fear and easy, simplistic nonsense held by the Repugs to be instantly gratifying and vote accordingly.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 25, 2019 12:45 PM |
If there’s nothing in the report, it should not be an issue to release it to the public. These politicians work for us, not us for them. It’s time we remember this.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 25, 2019 1:01 PM |
Hey DL lawyers, yesterday on one of the Sunday cable shows (I think CNN), during one of the round table discussions with all the “experts” and “analysts” parsing every word and phrase, one of the legal experts spoke to the whole obstruction issue. He said something like, in order to be charged with obstruction you need the underlying crime you’re trying to obstruct, and demonstrate I think he said “criminal intent” (or a similar phrase) in the actions that were designed to obstruct. Is this true?
He went on to say that since there was no evidence of collusion, there’s no underlying crime, and why Mueller didn’t prove or exonerate Trump of obstruction was because the actions they investigated may not have risen quite to criminal intent, but could be seen as crossing a line and the Mueller team wanted that “black mark” on Trump’s record.
So again DL lawyers, does this rationale/explanation ring true?
Also, regarding the full report and underlying evidence, I thought all Grand Jury testimony is by law barred from being made public? Can the Dems get around that? Would a judge ever agree to such a request?
TIA

The question unanswered by the attorney general’s summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report is: Why? Russian President Vladimir Putin took an extreme risk by interfering in the 2016 election as he did. Had Hillary Clinton won the presidency—the most likely outcome—Russia would have been exposed to fierce retaliation by a powerful adversary. The prize of a Trump presidency must have glittered alluringly, indeed, to Putin and his associates. Why?
Did they admire Trump’s anti-NATO, anti–European Union, anti-ally, pro–Bashar al-Assad, pro-Putin ideology?
Were they attracted by his contempt for the rule of law and dislike of democracy?
Did they hold compromising information about him, financial or otherwise?
Were there business dealings in the past, present, or future?
Or were they simply attracted by Trump’s general ignorance and incompetence, seeing him as a kind of wrecking ball to be smashed into the U.S. government and U.S. foreign policy?
Now the job returns to the place it has always belonged and never should have left: Congress.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday that President Trump doesn’t have “any problem” with special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report being released. “I don’t think the president has any problem with it,” Sanders said on NBC News’s “Today Show” when asked about Trump supporting the release of the report.
“He has been the most transparent, accessible president we’ve seen in modern history," she told NBC's Today Show.
On the other hand, Jay Sekulow, an attorney for President Donald Trump, said Monday he does not want the written answers the President submitted to special counsel Robert Mueller to be released, describing them as “confidential.”

What we know is Barr's opinion on the Mueller investigation before he was even confirmed. We also know Barr's opinion on whether a President can be indicted. We also know that Trump hand picked Barr. We also know that previously, Trump got doctor's to write a letter saying that he's incredibly healthy and will remain that way. So, like those doctors letters, all we get is a letter from Barr saying that Trump is in the clear. I don't care if Trump is hiding heart disease or is about to stroke out, but I do care if he is in cahoots with Russia. And a letter from Barr is not acceptable in this case. The whole report needs to be made public.

We've come a long way since the 1960s when the people could be gaslighted with a fake report. We all know that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone and we all know that Trump worked with the Russians. We saw it. We saw him ask them for the 30k emails from her server. We saw 'Lil Don email where he arranged a meeting to work with the Russians. We've seen Trump's Campaign Chair give polling data to the Russias. We've heard Donald Trump tell the Russian Ambassador that he had to fire Comey "because of this Russian thing." We've seen Flynn speaking with the Russians and then lying about it. We've seen Jared trying to get a back channel to the Russians. We've seen Prince trying to get another back channel to the Russians. We've seen Cambridge Analytica work directly with Russians. Cambridge Analytica was run by the president's OTHER campaign manager - Steve Bannon. We've seen the republicans change their position to pro-putin in regards to Ukraine. We've seen Trump defend Putin in Helsinki. We've seen Trump try to hid meetings and phone calls with Putin. We've seen Stone coordinate with Wiki Leaks. We've seen members of the Intelligence Community with their hair on fire because of the raw data they were seeing about Trump and Wiki Leaks. We've seen Grassley and Feinstein expressions after they came out of a classified meeting regarding intelligence about Trump. We've seen the Trump administration try to lift sanctions on Russia. We've seen the Trump administration actually lift sanctions on Russia. Folks, these aren't all coincidences. There may not be a signed contract between Putin and Trump but it can't be any more clearer that Putin worked to elect Trump and Trump is compromised and doing everything Putin wants him to do such as weakening NATO. If you've actually been following this, you know the Barr report is bull shit. Lee Harvey Oswald didn't act alone and neither did Trump. I just hope it doesn't take 40 years to prove it.

by Anonymous | reply 103 | March 25, 2019 2:00 PM |
The U.S. Supreme Court turned away an appeal connected to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s now-completed investigation, rejecting arguments from a mystery company that was trying to avoid having to turn over information to a grand jury.
The justices, without explanation Monday, left intact a federal appeals court ruling that said the company, owned by an unidentified foreign government, had to comply with a subpoena. The company, which refused to cooperate, faces fines that have increased by $50,000 a day and may have grown to well more than $2 million.
The ongoing significance of the subpoena fight isn’t clear now that Mueller has submitted his final report on the investigation to Attorney General William Barr. Mueller handed off some aspects of the probe to other federal prosecutors.

Trump can never be fully cleared of wrongdoing and no cover-up will be completely successful because he is by nature a compulsive serial fuckup. People with narcissistic personality disorder blow their chances as a way of life, and getting away with it only makes them more reckless. The more the Republicans cover for him, the more ways he'll find to shit all over the place in full view of his enemies. And he is going to have a lot of enemies by the time he's through in the White House, on top of the ones he's already made.

Barr was brought in as the "fixer". He did it before with Iran-Contra. It's a cover-up. Barr is a Trump ally. He will delay in releasing the report and will redact as much content he thinks he can get away with. This was not a "justice" decision but a political one. Republicans have the power in the WH, in the DOJ leadership, and in the control of the Senate. It is a political victory for Trump and his Republican supporters. But the real truth will be revealed, one way or the other, over time.

This is all public information. These people have been indicted for their crimes. Yet there was no collusion? A and B don't connect. If those people are guilty of the crimes they were indicted for, then there was collusion.
Unless the scope of the the question was narrowed to the point where a negative was the only outcome.
Did the campaign systematically collude with the Russian government? Probably not.
Did elements of the campaign collude with Russian entities? Given the indictments, obviously.
Is Trump is hawk to Putin/Russian oligarchs? As far as I can tell, Mueller shunted those cases off to SDNY, so this report doesn't address that.

Graham is calling for an investigation into the dossier and the surrounding events.
Well his suggestion that McCain take it the feds shows that he too thought it was serious enough to be investigated.
So that would be integral to the events that happened. SO HE WILL BE INVESTIGATING HIMSELF.
LOL. This investigation will never happen because it will ensnare McConnel, who dropped the ball, and Ryan who did nothing and Graham who co-signed the FBI referral by default.
Good catch!

I just get more angry the more I think about this. They are trying to gaslight an entire country into believing everything we witnessed for two years didn't really happen. Flynn's judge went ballistic over Mueller's leniancy against him and accused Flynn in open court of treason. Why did Mueller give Flynn such a sweeheart deal? Everyone assumed Flynn gave up something huge. It was the only explanation for that deal. And he apparently gave up nothing?
Why didn't Mueller charge Jr and Kusher for lying to Congress? Other people were charged with that. Why did he not even question them?
Trump stood in the Oval Office and told a bunch of Russians he fired Comey because of the Russier stuff and now the heat was off. But that wasn't obstruction? He told us on national TV he fired Comey because of Russia, but that wasn't obstruction?
Trump systematically fired everyone in the upper echelon of the FBI who didn't kiss his ass, and they all just happened to be experts on Russian crime. But I'm sure there's nothing to that. All a coincidence.
And nobody has ever answered the biggest question of why Trump acts beholden to Putin and terrified of him if there's nothing to worry about.
This is bullshit. This is a coverup.

What's going on makes so angry. We have an obviously crooked president, vengeful, hateful, and mean, who was "elected" through dubious means. An investigation was already underway by the FBI, lead by Republican Jim Comey. Later, after Comey was fired, the Special Council, Republican Mueller, was appointed by another Republican, Rob Rosenstein.
Now, it will be open season on Democrats by the vengeful orange shit stain. He will blame liberals for everything when it's Republicans who have been cheating all along. Preventing a Supreme Court seat from being filled by a Democratic president, blocking other judicial appointments until a Republican party was back in power. They are ruthless, cruel, and heartless. There is a cover up going on and the repukes will stop at nothing to destroy our democracy.
I'm not clear on what's going on with Avenatti yet, but the mere fact that a sitting president is taunting him and others is disgraceful. Disparaging a dead war hero, a disable man, a Gold Star family. We're all impediments to his malignant narcissism and the absolute corruption of the republican party.
Now there have been three suicides this week that stemmed from school shootings. The repukes sit stone cold silent on any sort of gun control. Hell, they're happy to have an army of weaponized lunatics, who knows when they'll come in handy. After all, life is only sacred in the embryonic form. Live humans be damned.

I would really love to know Rosenstein's actual behavior during all this. From what we saw he kow-towed to Congressional Republicans and capitulated to their every demand. He wrote the memo justifying Comey's firing to save his own job. He's a member of that hideous Federalist Society and a huge Kavanaugh backer. And he worked on Starr's team. I never assumed that guy was anything but a typical GOP hack. If he was truly standing up to Trump forcefully over and over how did he keep his job? Everyone else who did that got fired.

Trump wouldn't even have been able to access the word 'exonerated' if Barr hadn't put it in his stunted head.
Of course Deplorable triumphalism will be stomach-turning. The next rally will be Third Reich-worthy. It's just profoundly to be hoped that all those ongoing investigations listed by Seth Abramson, and the revulsion felt by the global sane, can still eat away at deep smug entitled corruption.

Trump Asked Whitaker if He Could Put Ally Prosecutor Geoffrey Berman [SDNY AG] in Charge of Cohen Investigation: Report
by Anonymous | reply 176 | March 25, 2019 6:30 PM |
President Trump reportedly asked then-acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker late last year if he could make U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman, one of his allies, head of the federal probe into hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign. The New York Times reports that Whitaker was aware he couldn’t put Berman in charge of the investigation, as the federal prosecutor had already recused himself from it. It’s unclear how Whitaker ultimately responded to Trump’s request, but the president eventually “soured” on the acting attorney general, who was replaced by William Barr last week.

There are some mysteries in what Barr said Mueller said. (Couldn't "establish" collusion, whatever that means in legal terms, and couldn't come to a conclusion about "obstruction"). But Mueller had a VERY narrow mandate. What we have all forgotten is that the rules on Special Prosecutors changed after Ken Starr went after Bill Clinton and Congress took away the right of special prosecutors to expand their mandates beyond the original ones. So what we have is a special prosecutor who uncovered TONS and TONS and TONS of illegal behavior on the part of Trump associates that were outside of his narrow mandate, and which the new rules governing special prosecutors forbade him from prosecuting. Hence the constant referrals to State courts and District Courts. That is now where the action is, and that is where we should be focusing our attention. Mueller sent over lots of evidence to Eastern District of Va, Southern District of NY, and possible to some state attorneys general, (such as the state of NY).
I comfort myself that Al Capone was taken down by a tax evasion charge. There is that and MUCH MUCH MORE on the Trump clan

Barr is a Trump Toady, plain and simple. Anyone who is jumping on his stupid, three page memo from yesterday as if its the final word on Mueller's investigation is simply BRAIN DEAD. Nothing he stated in his summary memo quotes Mueller at all - it was simply a summation of his (Barr's) interpretation of the report. Which basically means diddly squat.
The ENTIRE report must be released, in full. Congressional leaders can get it first, then the public. Taxpayers paid for it, we can read it. If there is any stonewalling whatsoever regarding its release, the American public should take to the streets in protest. Public pressure works, and will be the only thing that will get this report out there in the end. Don't stop calling your reps, emailing, writing and when called - marching.

I think Barr will redact the Mueller report beyond recognition. He will claim Executive Privilege, DOJ Policy on not releasing info about people not indicted, On-going investigations (that we'll never know about) and classified information. We're going to get the four sentence fragments that he provided in his "summary" and Robert Mueller's signature. This will be tied up in court for years - long enough to get past 2020. Mueller or one of the prosecutors who was assisting in the writing needs to start leaking bits and pieces of it and soon.

It certainly would not be Russian enthusiasm about Trump’s decision to end U.S. adherence to the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. The Kremlin reacted firmly to that action and warned that Washington’s withdrawal from the INF Treaty would compel Russia to develop new missiles.
It is also unlikely that Russia is happy about the Trump administration’s approval of two major arms sales to Ukraine.
Given the Kremlin’s hostility to the expansion of NATO’s membership (a stance that existed even before Putin became president), Trump’s alleged master cannot be pleased that his agent endorsed the admission of Montenegro to the alliance and is adopting the same view of Macedonia’s impending bid.

Moscow must be even more unhappy about the Trump administration’s failure to back off from Washington’s stated goal to bring Georgia and Ukraine into NATO—a move that Russians across the political spectrum regard as an intolerable provocation.
It would be peculiar if Putin was pleased about the frequent rotating deployments of U.S. warplanes and military personnel to NATO members on Russia’s border. Indeed, the rotations are now so frequent that they amount to an ongoing U.S. presence in all but name.
Given the reports that U.S. officials are now in serious negotiations with Warsaw to build a permanent military base (which the Polish president offered to name “Fort Trump” in a transparent appeal to the U.S. president’s notorious vanity) in eastern Poland near the border with Russia; Putin’s “puppet” appears to be out-of-control.

That problem also is apparent with respect to Trump’s treatment of Moscow’s would-be allies and client states. Russia has deployed its own military forces to Syria to help Bashar al-Assad retain his precarious hold on power. Yet Trump has continued to back opposition forces, and he launched missile strikes against Assad’s air force in response to his regime’s supposed use of chemical weapons. Other attacks on Syrian government positions have apparently killed approximately two hundred Russian nationals working as contractors and mercenaries.
by Anonymous | reply 248 | March 25, 2019 9:01 PM |
The Kremlin has pursued a policy of trying to forge close economic and even military ties with Venezuela’s leftist government headed by Nicolas Maduro. Conversely, the Trump administration has clearly embarked on a regime-change campaign to oust Maduro. Trump himself has insisted that all options (implicitly including a military intervention) remain on the table regarding that goal. It’s hard to square such an aggressive stance toward Russian clients like Assad and Maduro with the actions of someone dedicated to appeasing Moscow, much less someone operating as a Russian agent.
It is long past time to scorn the “Trump is Putin’s puppet” allegation for the preposterous myth that it is. In reality, the Trump administration has pursued a disturbingly hardline policy toward Russia, deepening an already worrisome new cold war. It is uncertain whether Trump’s stance is an effort to fend-off accusations of treason or if it merely reflects a dangerous herd mentality in Washington about relations with Moscow.

The Trump victory was a shock win to everyone including the Kremlin. Everybody was preparing for HRC to be Madam President. Everybody. Fox News and the Republicans were already starting creating bullshit narratives and scandals to undermine her.
He won because Americans are racist and stupid just like him not because Putin was some maniacal madman who was tampering with voting machines and hacking the DNC emails. John Podesta fell for a phishing scam and gave his email password away which is how Wikileaks got its hands on DNC emails.. The DNC refuses to hand over its server to the FBI to this day because they know there really was no foreign hack. It was Hillary's dinosaur camp's own stupidity and lack of tech savvy that led to getting their emails leaked

In a preview of the insanity to come, GOP rep compares Dems, media to Hitler:
In a speech Monday on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Mo Brooks quoted Adolf Hitler to describe the attacks President Trump faced from “socialist Democrats and their fake news media allies” during the Mueller investigation.
"For more than two years, Socialist Democrats and their fake news media allies -- CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, Washington Post, and countless others -- have perpetrated the biggest political lie, con, scam and fraud in American history," Brooks, R-Huntsville, said in the speech.
"Attorney General (William) Barr’s executive summary of Mueller’s Report has publicly confirmed what many of us have known for a long time. The accusations of collusion between President Trump and Russia in the 2016 elections are nothing but a Big Lie!"
Hitler wrote about the "Big Lie" in his book "Mein Kampf."

I have to say, all the whispers about the report coming out in February were close to accurate — it just came out that Barr and Rosenstein took three weeks to weigh the obstruction issue, which means their offices for sure had the report in February. Whatever.
This just brings us full circle, as it ALWAYS has, that every single droplet, each molecule, all the atoms in your being, all the energy you have, *must* be directed toward winning elections. I am also (currently) all in for Mayor Pete. Now is the time to start putting your energy into 2020. Trump will do everything possible to win, and if the election occurred today, he might win. We *must* keep the message focused on why our policies are better for both individuals and for the country as a whole.
Can someone remind me again how this asshole Barr got in? I know we don’t have the votes, but I don’t recall Dems giving him hell either when he was nominated. I am really devastated and disheartened, everything seemed to be pointing toward justice!!! What the FUCK happened?? Like we got a tease of Mueller’s laser focus and unparalleled ability to wield the full power of our federal government, and then, it just fizzled.....it does *not* make any sense. None of it!!!! I would give all I have to know what Michael Cohen is thinking today. I would be absolutely terrified if I were him, I really would. He’s got to be shitting his pants wondering what the fuck Putin pulled to make this happen, and what they’re going to do to him now. Bobby Three Sticks lets Cohen put his life on the line for.....what?
Right now, the Dems need to hear that we are still behind them. They are licking their wounds too, we need to make sure they know that they have our support *and* they better not even toy with the idea of letting this go. They can do two things at once — pass policies AND have keep working on this.
And yes r300, I agree with you, I cannot believe Lindsey is still kicking too. I have never seen deeper corruption, they all disgust me. This country belongs to us too, fuck the GOP.

R302 Barr slipped in because he's a corporate whore and thus palatable to most of official Washington. And he had already held the job once, so they couldn't get him on a lack of experience. His tenure during the Poppy Bush years was not marked by the current political rancor, so he didn't leave office with a lot of ill will against him. Plus, there's only so much hell that an opposing party can raise when they are in the minority and have no real ability to block a nominee.
All the Dems voted against him, except for Jones, Manchin, and Sinema. Not sure there was much more that they could have done.

by Anonymous | reply 324 | March 26, 2019 12:11 AM |
Everyone keeps saying Mueller didn't uncover anything.... but again, how do we know this? This is all being decided because of Barr's summary?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Barr's summary included NO actual quotes from Mueller's report, correct?
So, as far as we know what we see in Barr's summary isn't what Mueller actually reported, but Barr's own interpretation of the report, and whether or not BARR feels like any of the evidence Mueller and team uncovered meets the threshold of what he (Barr) interprets as a crime, right?
And as Barr has already shown, he believes Drumpf should be able to get away with whatever he wants because nothing he does is criminal activity.
Therefore, if Mueller's report said, "Dotard requested and received the help from a foreign entity," Barr could have determined that he didn't feel that met HIS definition of collusion, right?
by Anonymous | reply 325 | March 26, 2019 12:15 AM |

Barr quoted four partial sentences from the report. He quotes half a sentence from the Mueller report which states that they found no evidence the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government despite many attempts and offers of help by Russians.
But Junior got an email basically saying "so the Russian government wants to give you dirt on Hillary" and he responded "I love it" then had a meeting in Trump Tower with a bunch of Russians.
Barr doesn't let us know what the outcome of that meeting was. Mueller possibly explains that it was really all a ruse to talk about adoptions, they offered dirt but none materialized, it was a setup, it was actually Muppets, not the Russian government. We don't know. Because they won't release the report.
We don't know why they all lied repeatedly about meeting with Russians if they were doing nothing wrong.
It may not be collusion, but we sure haven't been told exactly what it was then.
Mueller did not exonerate Trump on the charge of obstruction. He declined to make a decision. He probably intended for Congress to handle that, but good old Barr stepped in and nipped that in the bud himself. Barr exonerated Trump on that, not Mueller.
This isn't over. It's nothing but a good old-fashioned GOP coverup and I don't think it's going to work this time.
by Anonymous | reply 334 | March 26, 2019 12:59 AM |
R334 It's a very clumsy and silly coverup. It's all based on the AG's bully pulpit to obfuscate/delay. The aim might be to saturate the the idiotic media with that "exonerated" disinformation. But even that will dissipate with more scrutiny since nothing about this ruse passes the smell test.

𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀.
After previously insisting there was collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia, former CIA Director John Brennan completed his 180 on the issue today by admitting he “suspected there was more than there actually was.”
“I don’t know if I received bad information, but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was,” Brennan told MSNBC’s Morning Joe earlier today.
The former top intelligence official also expressed that he is “relieved that it’s been determined there was not a criminal conspiracy with the Russian government over our election,” adding that Robert Mueller‘s findings — which were, in part, released by Attorney General William Barr yesterday — are “good news for the country.”
Brennan has previously suggested he had special information on the investigation, claiming in a March 5 TV hit that “Friday is the day that the grand jury indictments come down,” and insisted that Trump’s claims of no collusion between his campaign and Russia were “hogwash.”
ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran called out the ex-CIA head for deceiving the public.
“John Brennan has a lot to answer for—going before the American public for months, cloaked with CIA authority and openly suggesting he’s got secret info, and repeatedly turning in performances like this,” Moran wrote on Twitter.

Keep in mind Republicans are pushing no collusion which doesn't mean there isn't something incredibly shady going on with Putin and Trump anyway. We'll see what comes from that.
Either there is something financial or otherwise Trump is afraid of, or he's just a sniveling little coward. We've watched him literally cower in Putin's presence repeatedly for two years. Apparently the press has totally forgotten that.

Serious question: Let’s say a newspaper gets a hold of Mueller’s report. What would be the legal ramifications if they published it? Could they face charges, and if so, what would they be? Would the release be protected by the First Amendment?

R367 They don't have to do that. What they do instead right now is just look the other way when a few journalists get hassled by mob style intimidation tactics. This way you don't have to resort to anything extreme and it's effective at making other reporters too fearful to report some things.
by Anonymous | reply 377 | March 26, 2019 3:18 AM |
I know I am gonna get killed for this, but I think the Dems have to let Mueller go. There's so much more to bring this guy down with... there will be so much more... he is his own worst enemy. The Dems need to attack from safer ground: cages, fake national emergencies, taxes. They can still use the Mueller report as a basis but they need to stop talking about it. It just feeds the Rethuglican narrative that is emerging. People are weary of Mueller, aren't they? The Dems need to start cutting the ground out from under the Republicans on a policy basis, like health care. I just feel the Mueller fatigue could boomerang.

R378 The thing is, I've watched several town halls and speeches from Democratic candidates and I don't remember Mueller or Russia being mentioned much at all. The focus is on heatlhcare, education, taxes, etc. And tonight's announcement the GOP is once again going to try to take away healthcare will just light even more of a fire under Democrats.
I want the truth. I'll keep pushing for it. I don't want the GOP to get away with yet one more coverup. I want to know if my President is a foreign agent, an unwitting dupe or what the hell is going on. But I can focus on the other things, too.

What will releasing the full report do if the summary is no collusion?
Is there something damning in there that we don't know because releasing the full report and having that be a big dud too will only mean an even bigger political win for Trump? Don't fall for the trap. Releasing the full report may backfire if it's anything like the conclusions Mueller sent in.

It advanced expectations because they were justified in being advanced. FFS - the Barr memo (aka Trump Toady toliet paper) was ONE PERSON'S summary of the Mueller report. That one person being a hired employee of Trump himself, and a Repub operative and loyal foot solider of many decades. You're going to believe the report exonerates POTUS based on that three page summary??
Those here who are just rolling over and taking Barr and RR's word on the this should wallow in all the misery they deserve. Because they are stupid, to be frank. I'll wait to see the report itself and what it says - and we WILL see it, come hook or crook. Special counsel Robert Mueller has definitively put to rest the collusion theory of President Trump’s election. That’s not a little embarrassing for the many journalists, talking heads, celebrities and instant experts who spent more than two years furiously speculating about Moscow “pee-pee” tapes, treasonous rendezvous and the president’s imminent arrest.
The president’s haters no doubt wish to memory-hole collusion and move on to the next anti-Trump theory. But not so fast: We want to laurel the punditry “champion” — the one who peddled the most nonsensical nonsense, the wildest inanities, the weirdest theories and unsubstantiated stories.
That’s where your brackets come in.
Our contenders are divided into four groups (not unlike NCAA conferences): the print journalists, the cable TV talkers, the Twitterati and the network news reporters and “analysts.” And the brackets are seeded, with the most visible and influential figures contending against the lesser-known.

On Sunday, Chris Christie said that the DOJ has a rule, that they will not comment on people they are not planning to indict, even if those people have been investigated. (James Comey was the only one in recent history to violate the rule.) Mueller can only comment on the people that have been publicly indicted. If he passed information to a different jurisdiction like the SDNY or whoever, he can't comment on it. If he presented information to a Grand Jury and the Grand Jury said, nah, no collusion, he can't comment on it.

NYT contributing writer Will Wilkinson:
The crescendo of furious gaslighting following Barr's propaganda summary suggests a plan was place to exploit the gap between the submission of the report and public revelation of what's in it to delegitimize Mueller's actual findings and the ongoing investigations.
Trump cronies are incoherently claiming BOTH (a) that the report exonerates him AND (b) the investigation was so ethically compromised and politically biased nothing that came of it can be taken seriously and shouldn't be made public. Obviously can't be both.
Trump's "one weird trick" is the shameless public delegitimization of anyone aligned against his interests. Once again, we're seeing he's the GOAT at this evil art. It's what's made him the Houdini of industrial-scale white-collar theft.
Our idiot media still isn't capable of understanding how to not be co-opted by Trump's reality-bending propaganda machine, and continues to get played like a burgled Stradivarius.

A leaked Mueller report will mean nothing.
It actually might be a political W for Trump if the full report is disclosed and nothing remarkable happens.
He will tell his base "Look, the full report came out and nothing happened!"

R461, We want him out of there. If this report can't do that, then what good is it?
It could say he skinned cats or ate puppies, it doesn't really matter if it doesn't lead to indictment.
The news wants the full report because this one story brings many ratings so they want to dissect and discuss any scandalous detail they can find but if the Mueller report doesn't lead to any charges for anyone in the Trump family, its ultimately still a political win for the Trumps.
Therefore, I don't think any good will come from leaking the full report UNLESS indictment is promised

Who didn't expect Barr to push a valentine to Trump to the public?
Mueller totally 'gets' Trump, and he's giving him a looong leash to hang himself. Tweety will tour the country with his Vicious Victory Tour, promising revenge on all those who were mean to him. Then he will snap to attention with the realization that he didn't WIN anything at all. "Collusion" is the bait; money-laundering, campaign finance fraud, conflicts of interest, lying... these are the traps.
I suspect that Mueller secretly loathes Trump, esp. after two years of being vilified by him (fake, phony, illegitimate, etc.). They are polar opposites and what Trump is would disgust Mueller. The best way to destroy Trump is in a stealthy , sneaky long-term way.

Trump/Barr's gaslighting will work on the GOP and exhausted moderates who are out of energy.
There comes a point when, once you understand your sociopath, that their tricks don't work anymore. Yes, we saw the coordination with our own eyes. Yes, we saw what we saw and heard what we heard. No amount of gaslighting over the non-released report will work on those of us who, at the end of the day, saw what we saw and heard what we heard.
Never forget that this whole thing started because multiple of our allies began reporting that members of Trump's campaign team were walking into surveillance nets around known Russian spies, and because Papadumbass was bragging about using foreign contacts to help the campaign. It happened, it is documented and no amount of gaslighting from Barr, Trump and Co will change that reality. I get why Mueller is in a tough spot--and we all know that he does NOT take cases to court unless he is convinced of conviction. Trump skated, Mueller knows he skated and anyone paying full attention knows he skated, too. The rest is gaslighting.
Trump has become fond of carrying rolled-up papers with some nonsense or other to show to reporters. If the Mueller Report fully cleared him he'd be passing out copies.
There is also a reason why Trump tries to intimidate media rather than suing for slander, which is far more his style: They are pursuing something that is true and a lawsuit would bring all the facts into a courtroom. You think Fox News stopped tweeting and is cleaning house because there's no "there" there? Mueller's investigation did damage to this tentacle of the mob.
Cohen reaffirmed what Comey told us--Trump operates like a mob boss. That's because he is knee-deep in the mob. It isn't surprising that Trump walks while all the others do the dirty work, and there are plenty of others doing the dirty work while Trump's outrageous behavior seeks headlines.
I encourage everyone to stop trying to take on and process all of the gaslighting nonsense around Barr's talking points. The money is in Mueller's full report and I support any media source, citizen and politician who clamors for its release. It is only phase one. I'm A-OK with them first shining a bright light into this arena, because voters and citizens have the most power over our electoral process, and that affects far more American citizens directly than Trump's mob activity.
But the cases into Trump's business dealings and his charity (folded in one day--why?) will be much deeper and get to the heart of Trump's mob connections--the money laundering, tax evasion, sex trafficking, etc. Those cases, now farmed out, are still ongoing.

Dan Rather
We are now in the aftermath of the bombshell. Not the report itself, at least not yet, but the summary of the report by an attorney general who may or may not have used his position to protect the president.
What do we know? Some things, some pretty important things.
What do we not know? A lot.
We know that the president was not engaged in a conspiracy to collude with the Russian government in its interference with the United States election. We know this after a man of integrity, Robert Mueller, assembled a team of top-notch investigators and spent years looking into the evidence. We should trust that verdict. We also know that the investigatigation led to multiple serious prosecutions and guilty pleas of people very high up in the Trump campaign. We cannot forget that.
Almost everything else is at this point up for interpretation. Were there other nefarious connections with Russian businessmen and the Trump family and organization? Perhaps. Others are investigating. Was there obstruction of justice? Hidden or in plain sight? Matters of interpretation up until now, but the report may contain much more information. We need to see it. There is so much left to find out. And the fight now begins in earnest, in Congress, in other jurisdictions, and ultimately with the American electorate.
But make no mistake, the president and his allies will claim this as an unadulterated and complete victory. This is of course an overstatement but it is not without any grounding in reality.
Many opponents of President Trump are deeply disappointed - for multiple reasons. Many wanted Mueller to uncover a conspiracy so vast and so damning for the President that bipartisan impeachment calls would crescendo. That hope has crashed against the rocks of the reality of Mueller's findings. And everyone should accept that or risk playing the same game with the truth as the President and his enablers.
Others are disappointed that a report that likely is full of nuance and reams of evidence was allowed to be characterized for the public by an attorney general of questionable independence from the man he serves. That is a fair criticism and worry. And the diversity of headlines in the press as to how to summarize the findings show the fight for how to frame the report will continue.
But I suspect most of the president's political opponents were disappointed because they felt that this report and the way it will be used will give fresh energy - maybe they fear even unstoppable energy - to the reelection of a president whom they feel is unfit for office for many, many reasons that go far beyond any question of Russian electoral collusion.
To these people I say, steady. It is almost 600 days until the 2020 election. Which in "newscycle years" is an eternity. In the give and take of politics, you can be beaten but not defeated. For those who feel like they did after the 2016 election, don't forget how you felt after the 2018 election. Ultimately to defeat Trumpism and not just the president will require a verdict from the American people. And we have seen that the votes are there but not without a fight. And that fight would have continued no matter what Robert Mueller found.
The president will crow about this as complete vindication. He will gin up crowds chanting his mantras in syncopated aduration. He will rally his Republican enablers and solidify his base. All that is true. Online his supporters will gloat and denigrate any storyline that does not parrot this simplistic view. They will demand fealty to all that is Trump. To those who feel his tenure in office is anathema to the America they know, this will be infuriating.
If that anger leads to despair, the destiny of this nation will shift much more to President Trump's vision. But if that anger leads to a deep resolve that it shall not be so, then America will likely have a very different journey ahead.
The battle lines for 2020 are clear. The question is who will show up to fight for their beliefs, to organize, and ultimately to vote.

Someone who never gets talked about anymore is poor Ambassador Kislyak. No Republican on the face of the earth could remember ever having met the man until Beauregard Sessions had to go back to Congress to admit he'd met the man. And had committed perjury by lying and saying he hadn't.
Stories came out saying our intelligence services caught Kislyak saying he'd spoken to Sessions and others about the Trump campaign. Whether those reports were true or not would be in the counter-intelligence sections of Mueller's report.
It's another situation where if everything was really on the up-and-up you'd think they'd want to release the report and prove it.

I dont understand why people are pissed off at Mueller....we only know what Barr has told us. Mueller might have found evidence of a conspiracy and referred it elsewhere. He might have been restricted to only trying to find if Trump and co conspired with the IRA and GRU (whom he indicted) but determined Trump and co had no connection to them (which could be true...but that doesnt mean there wasnt collusion elsewhere). We wont know until we see HIS report. He obviously found obstruction and wanted congress to make that determination via impeachment....thats why he laid out the evidence both pro and con. He reported to both Rosenstein and Barr, so if he wanted THEM to make the determination as to obstruction, he wouldnt have needed to lay out the evidence in a report....he would have told them what he had and asked them what to do.

Hillary's private email server was a witch hunt. In all the time they spent investigating her not a single person was indicted or took a plea deal or anything like the avalanche of shadiness that the Mueller team has revealed about Trump.

He wasn't restricted to just that; his remit was much wider. Seth Abramson did a thread on this a few days ago, referring to the letter which appointed Mueller. People are annoyed with Mueller because it appears that he went all 'softly, softly' when his investigation got to the level of dealing with the Trump family. But it's a fair point that we don't know exactly HOW annoyed to be with him because we haven't read the report. There might be cause to be mildly irked or completely livid, we just don't know (yet).

Trolls are still trying to push the narrative that we know what Mueller said in the report.
No, we don't.
We know how Barr summarized it within the confines of what HE BELIEVES to be the law, which wasn't his place to do in the first place.
by Anonymous | reply 552 | March 26, 2019 9:18 PM |
[quote] If that were the case, he wouldn't have taken 2 years to put out a report and he never would have handed out immunity for people to testify. He would have done a superficial report after taking a few months to look at the evidence and then said in the report that there was nothing that needed further investigation.
Not saying this is indeed the case, but it would make sense to stretch it out and time, and frame, it in a way where Trump could use it for his presidential campaign in 2020 where he "survived" a brutal witch hunt.

Per Maggie Haberman, Trump said this today during his visit with Repug senators:
"POTUS praised Barr, per person briefed: 'I love the AG. He works fast. I love this guy. You told me I would.' "

The White House will get the Mueller report to make redactions before it’s released to the public, Barr says.

r555. Wow. Just wow.
by Anonymous | reply 556 | March 26, 2019 9:44 PM |
R555 Ohh great! The one being investigated can "redact" out all his crimes... Justice is dead! LOL
by Anonymous | reply 557 | March 26, 2019 9:47 PM |
The only way to deal with this kind of complete and utter corruption is for a conscientious soul to leak this report to the public.
by Anonymous | reply 558 | March 26, 2019 9:49 PM |
The only thing not redacted will be:
"By Robert Mueller."

by Anonymous | reply 562 | March 26, 2019 9:56 PM |
R588, that is what I'm hoping for, too. I was also hoping for a different outcome from Mueller, so my expectations now are quite low.
by Anonymous | reply 563 | March 26, 2019 10:01 PM |
This is like a fucking nightmare.
by Anonymous | reply 564 | March 26, 2019 10:08 PM |
Never ever trust repugs.
If they get away with this, our country is truly dead. Fucking dead. We will be exactly like Russia- a stale, increasingly oppressive oligarchy.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | March 26, 2019 10:09 PM |
The Democrats in the House aren't going to wait to get tRump's edited version of the report, nor will they accept a version with redactions. Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler certainly have a right to see the unedited, original version of the damn report.
I suspect that what will finally be revealed is not that Barr revised what Mueller wrote, but rather that he simply omitted significant portions from his summary. If he had actively misrepresented what the report states, he would have invited dissent from the Mueller team. But. by just being silent, Barr could hide behind his view that certain topics were privileged and shouldn't be discussed.
by Anonymous | reply 566 | March 26, 2019 10:10 PM |
Is there any reason that the House can't subpoena Mueller to testify and is there any reason Mueller wouldn't?
by Anonymous | reply 567 | March 26, 2019 10:12 PM |
Maybe Repubs *are* holding the report up to spring it on us like a trap. I don't know. I also don't care. I deserve to see that report and not a summary scrubbed by the White House and delivered by Barr. If it was all a set-up by nefarious Democrats to bring down Trump, I deserve to know that, too. But not through an investigation led by Trump's biggest ass-licking syncophant Lindsey Graham. Who can trust whatever he leads?
The point of appointing Robert Mueller, American Hero, to investigate this was so that America could be reassured by his findings. We haven't SEEN his findings. We've seen four half-sentences from his report.
And here's Rudy earlier on CNN. Keep this dumbass talking and the whole thing will fall apart by Friday.
by Anonymous | reply 568 | March 26, 2019 10:14 PM |
Dems shouldn't spend all their time obsessing about this report. Other than being obtained in its original form, it would be tainted by all kinds of GOP manipulation now that they have got their hands on it. The House must start investigations now into the Trump crime family's criminal activities revealed over the past two years. We can only trust what the Dems do for themselves in the end, since the Republicans have become completely corrupt in service of Trump.

The military is pissed that they have to build detainee housing. And now several military projects are being put on hold due to wall funding. In republican districts.
Anytime you can, point out to deplorables that there is a huge cost to their blind loyalty.

by Anonymous | reply 573 | March 26, 2019 10:42 PM |
Mueller testifying before Congress April 2, is that a public hearing? If so, it wiIk be a lot of puffery and grandstanding by repugs. The dems should cede their time to an experienced prosecutor who can be concise and follow a consistent line of questioning.
Don't waste time trying to impress voters back home. Get to the bottom of this.
by Anonymous | reply 574 | March 26, 2019 10:43 PM |
Barr is delaying and redacting. He is at DoJ to protect Trump. The full, unredacted report needs to be released, and very soon, not weeks. Barr will redact all he thinks he can get away with doing. That cannot be trusted.
by Anonymous | reply 575 | March 26, 2019 10:46 PM |
Rudy just said "What you're going to find out about obstruction -- is that this is matter of interpretation."
So...Rudy is admitting that Mueller found obstruction but it's just a matter of interpretation???
by Anonymous | reply 576 | March 26, 2019 10:55 PM |
Why are the Democrats holding off on bringing in Mueller to testify? He's the only one who can answer questions about what is really in the report.
by Anonymous | reply 577 | March 26, 2019 10:56 PM |
An interesting comment, R576. It was always suspected that Barr was brought in because he has an unusually restrictive interpretation of obstruction.
by Anonymous | reply 578 | March 26, 2019 10:58 PM |
[quote]We are going to find that Mueller made the case for congress to impeach Trump and it was covered up by Barr. Barr will be impeached and charged for obstruction himself.
From what I understand the HJC can indeed bring an impeachment case against Barr and charge him for obstruction re all this, even if it's a flimsy case....and in the process of that, they can subpoena the entire Mueller report, unredacted.
More than one way to get to your destination with effort. Don't lose faith here folks, we'll see this full report.

I would imagine they are waiting for the release of the report so they know what to ask Mueller. Not really knowing what Mueller said, we only know what Barr chose to release.
by Anonymous | reply 580 | March 26, 2019 11:04 PM |
That's what I've been saying all along, R576. We're going to find out that what was released wasn't anything close to what Mueller actually intended... it's all in how Barr, "interpreted," the information, which wasn't his job to do.
by Anonymous | reply 581 | March 26, 2019 11:05 PM |
Not even one sentence from the Mueller report was quoted in its entirety in Barr's CliffsNotes version. Not one.
by Anonymous | reply 582 | March 26, 2019 11:07 PM |
Lindz meets with Barr. This is crap, because he is collaborating with Barr as to what may be released. Delete Grand Jury testimony, intelligence content, and allow Trump and the WH to see the report before Congress does, and redact what else Trump wants removed, claiming Executive Privilege.
Executive Privilege doesn't cover criminal behavior. But Barr will oblige.
Graham is out-of-control and his Senate colleagues need to address that. Republicans won't, and most of them are encouraging his behavior.

R589, I'm curious if the report reveals that they didn't have ENOUGH evidence YET and needed to continue the investigation to gather everything and because Barr pulled it, the report, according to Barr, couldn't produce enough to meet Barr's definition of a crime.
